MyPEI Account

To verify your account in-person, you’ll need two pieces of valid ID

Primary ID: Must be one of the following:

  • PEI Driver’s License
  • Voluntary ID

Secondary ID: Choose one from the following list:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Canadian Citizenship Card
  • Permanent Resident Card
  • Certificate of Indian Status
  • Canadian Passport
  • Nexus Card
  • Official Immigration Document

You will also need:

  • To be at least 16 years of age
  • A mobile phone
  • Access to your email
     

Registering a new to you vehicle:

Requirements:

  • Prior owners' registration card and/or bill of sale with all fields completed
    • MUST include name of buyer, name of seller, purchase price, and seller’s signature
  • Proof of auto insurance 
  • Proof of valid inspection
  • Funds to pay sales tax if purchased privately

Exchanging a driver’s license from another Province or Territory:

Requirements:

  • Current Canadian Driver’s License card (most recent copy)
  • Any work or study permits 
  • For Class 1-4 licenses – a Highway Safety Medical must be submitted and approved prior to exchange
  • Two documents that show your current address in Prince Edward Island, such as a:
    • Formal lease or rental agreement
    • Letter of employment on company letterhead or pay stub with your name and address
    • Federal or provincial government mail, i.e. tax, GST, correspondence
    • Bank documents showing name and address, i.e. personal cheque, mortgage document, credit card/bank statement

Apply for the Free Insulation Program

Requirements:

  • Income Document, either
    • Current Proof of Income Statement from the CRA for you and your spouse or common-law partner (if applicable)
    • July Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (CGEB) notice showing your address, family net income, marital status, and province of residence
    • Current Canada Child Benefit Statement from the CRA
  • Electric Bill from either Maritime Electric or City of Summerside electric bill that shows the address where the upgrades will be installed

Apply for the PEI Home Heating Program

Requirements:

  • Notice of Assessment (Required for all individuals in household over the age of 18)
    • Must be from the most recent tax year i.e. After May 1st each year, the newest Notice of Assessment document is required.
    • For example, after May 1, 2026, the 2025 NOA is required, after May 1, 2027, the 2026 NOA is required and after May 1, 2028, the 2027 NOA is required.
  • Piece of ID
    • Must be a valid PEI Driver’s License, PEI Voluntary Identification, Permanent Residency, or Canadian Citizenship Certificate
  • Recent Bill from your Primary Heating Source
    • Must show Supplier Name, Account #, Applications Name and Address
    • Heating bill must be in the applicant’s name for the address listed
  • Current Lease Agreement (If Renting)
  • Completed Application

Applying for a PEI Health Card

Requirements:

  • Health Card from another Province or Territory
  • Passport, Birth Certificate, or Permanent Residency Card 
  • Any work or study permits in your name
